gnostic-ui combines work from several sources. Each source has a different role.

## Project foundation

[Fulldotdev UI](https://github.com/fulldotdev/ui) supplied the original fork and
project foundation. That starting point made it possible to develop the Astro
registry, examples, and site tools in one workspace.

## Component design

[Coss UI](https://coss.com/ui) supplies the visual design for the Coss component
ports. Its spacing, type, borders, shadows, and states are adapted to the Astro
components. Coss uses Base UI for React. The Astro ports use native HTML and
[data-slot](https://github.com/bejamas/data-slot) behavior. Scroll Area has a custom element
that works with native scrolling.

The ports retain Astro props and slots. Their API and supported behavior can
differ from the React source. The component guides describe the implementation
that you install here.

## Gnostic work

Gnostic maintains the Astro adaptations, registry, themes, examples, and site
generator. The library also includes components and blocks developed through
client projects. These include content layouts, media displays, and complete
site compositions.

The project brings that work into one place. A component port, an original
component, and a site assembled from shared parts are different contributions.
The docs describe them on that basis.

## Supporting tools

[Astro](https://astro.build/) renders the components and pages.
[Tailwind CSS](https://tailwindcss.com/) supplies the utility classes and theme
tokens. The [shadcn registry](https://ui.shadcn.com/docs/registry) supplies the
source installation format. [Blume](https://github.com/haydenbleasel/blume) provides the docs
site, search, and page metadata.

Keep the source notices that apply to installed code. The Credits page records
the project origins; it does not replace those notices.
